Adam's Peak is one of Sri Lanka's most sacred sites, revered by Buddhists, Hindus, Muslims, and Christians. The 5,500-step climb is traditionally done at night to reach the summit (2,243m) for a spectacular sunrise and the famous shadow of the peak.
