About Rankoth Vehera
One of the largest temple complex built in the time of Polonnaruwa ancient kingdom. The Rankoth Vehera was a replica of Ruwanwaleiseya as to the legends and temple has included several temples in the place including a monk hospital, university, hostels and all amenities to educate and discipline the monks and their chapters. The stupa was later preserved for the current position.
