This is one of important place for buddhist people,as well as people who studying pre historic paintings of ceylon.this place called 'thiwakkabamunugama' in many moons ago.there were stone caves with loard budda statues.thanthirimalaya bode tree is specialy important. Acoording to historical source this bode tree age and jayasrima bodi tree age are same.if you travel anuradapura , you must added thanthirimalaya also.
